GKEN Block teaching at Jimma University
GKEN members Dr. Amare, Elfneh, Hailu, Alademerin and Odunaike delivered intensive block teaching at Jimma University in their own specific training and expertise. While at Jimma, they also attended the conference and actively participated by presenting a research paper at this special event viagra envio 24 horas.
The 7th Annual Research Conference was organized and hosted by Jimma and took place from March 31st – April 1st, 2016 under the grand theme “Gender Equality in Development and Nation Building: Opportunities and Constraints.” This year’s theme for the conference attracted attention from the academia and practitioners involved in research and advocacy in the areas of gender equality.
The conference was attended by 400 participants from various educational, research and non-governmental organizations including renowned scholars who presented their research findings across disciplines. It was an impressive event where seven plenary and 105 research papers were presented in eight parallel sessions. Members of the Global Knowledge Exchange Network (G-KEN), a UK-based initiative of the Ethiopian diaspora and friends of Ethiopia, Chaired by Dr. Amare Desta, were also present and active participants in the conference besides their week long voluntary block teaching and seminar activities at JU.
We were warmly received by Jimma University, one of our GKEN Conference partners. This is one of many block teachings we hope to deliver both in Jimma University and a number of other institutions in Ethiopia.
